Orchid Cellmark Chain of Custody documents must accompany all
specimens at all times. Contact Orchid Cellmark for copies of these documents
if you are sending evidence to Orchid Cellmark. Each specimen should be labeled
with the name and race (if known) as well as the relevant dates
(date obtained and date sent). If required, Orchid Cellmark will make arrangements
for blood collection from the suspect and/or victim.
The
following types of specimens may be appropriate for testing: amniotic
fluid, blood (autopsy, dried, or liquid), bone (aged or fresh),
chorionic villi, cigarette butts, embedded tissue, envelopes, hair,
muscle, aborted fetus, saliva, semen (and semen stains), skin (dried
or autopsy), tooth, urine (dried or liquid), and vaginal aspirate.
